This 2004 Toyota Landcruiser audio upgrade came to us from Haiku. The client purchased the immaculate SUV from the mainland and had it shipped to Hawaii. The vehicle was a fully loaded model, but there were two problems. The Bluetooth system was inadequate and the stereo system sounded horrible. Our audio system design consultants sat down with the client and listened to his wants for the system and then presented their solution.
We started by upgrading the factory Bluetooth with a USA-SPEC Bluetooth Module. Then we moved to the front doors. The front component speakers were replaced with Focal PS165’s. We custom fabricated mounting plates for the door speakers to accommodate the different sized Toyota opening. In the rear doors, we upgraded the factory speakers with Focal PC165 coaxial speakers. Again, we used a custom plate to adapt the speaker to the opening. The low-end punch was addressed with a JL Audio subwoofer enclosure housing a 10-inch JL Audio subwoofer. Powering the entire system is a JL Audio XD 5 channel amplifier. This amplifier provides power to the front and rear doors as well as the subwoofer. The amplifier and passive crossovers for the front doors were mounted on a custom fabricated metal bracket. The bracket tucks the gear away on the driver’s side, behind a factory panel, for the ultimate stealth installation!
The client was blown away by the sound, and couldn’t believe we were able to hide all of the gear! If you are in the market for an audio system upgrade, our design professionals would love to speak with you. Contact us here, or stop by our facility today.
